Principal's Message

Diane Weeden, Principal

Diane Weeden

Principal

Our mission at Lomax Elementary is to provide opportunities for students to achieve their personal best, become responsible and productive citizens, and embrace lifelong learning in a safe and positive environment.  We are dedicated to equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to navigate the challenges of the modern world. Through a comprehensive curriculum and a focus on character development, we aim to empower our students to make positive contributions to their communities. Our vision is clear: Excellence in character and academics is the expectation!

I began my teaching career in Pasadena ISD, where I taught kindergarten and first grade for seven years, before taking on the role as the school’s first instructional technology teacher for kindergarten through fifth grades. In 2005, I joined La Porte ISD where I served as an Instructional Technology Specialist for 6 years at Lomax Elementary, until I took on the role of Assistant Principal in 2011.  I served in this role for the next six years at several LPISD campuses, including Heritage, College Park, and Bayshore Elementary.  In 2016, I served as Interim Principal of Jennie Reid Elementary, then went on to serve as the principal for the next eight years.  In 2024, I am excited to have come full circle in LPISD, as I return to Lomax Elementary as the principal.

Thanks,

Diane Weeden
