USDA approves free school meals for time being
Beginning September 8, breakfasts and lunches will be free of charge to all enrolled LPISD students until federal funds are no longer available. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) hopes to fund the school meal program through December 31. Since it is uncertain when funding will end, the Nutrition Department is requesting parents to continue to submit free and reduced meal applications.
For virtual learners, daily curbside meals will only be located at La Porte Elementary and Baker 6th Grade Campus from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm beginning September 8. Students enrolled at any LPISD campus may pick up meals at either location. Lunch and the next day’s breakfast will be offered at no cost. If students are not present in the vehicle, please have the student’s ID number or badge ready to present to the cashier.
